Core Curriculum
Includes six subject groups (Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and The Arts) from which students choose courses to create a balanced education.
Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
Encourages students to reflect on the nature of knowledge and how we know what we claim to know.
Extended Essay (EE)
A 4,000-word independent research project that allows students to investigate a topic of interest in depth.
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
Requires students to engage in a variety of extracurricular activities that promote personal growth and community service.

Choosing subjects in the DP
The IB provides course selection guidance to help you when choosing subjects. If you would like some examples of subject combinations, please take a look at these examples of diploma subject choices.
Students choose subjects from the following 6 subject groups
1. language and literature
2. language acquisition
3. individuals and societies
4. sciences
5. mathematics
6. arts
Higher level (HL) and Standard level (SL)
- Each student takes a minimum of 3 or a maximum of 4 subjects at higher level, and the remaining at standard level
- Standard level subjects take up 150 teaching hours.
- Higher level comprises 240 teaching hours.
